The Blue Paints are ready to use. Their quality makes them suitable for use with a number of decorating techniques including airbrushing, antiquing and brushstrokes. One stroke is all you need for most design work. One or two additional strokes may be added for depth and shading while the color is still wet. if additional coats are applied after the color has dried, the heavy build up may cause popping off, bleeding and bubbling. The paints can be applied directly to bisque. They may be applied over most and underglazes, including Cover- Coats and other colors, allowing the base color to show through. They may also be used to change clay slip, most glazes, fired snow and other colors.
Application
- One coat for translucent designs.
- Additional coats for depth and shading
Always use soft brush. The paints have a definite quality, even when one color is applied over another. They should not be used for solid-color coverage, but for design work, simulated china painting techniques, plaid effects or any other technique where a shaded or two-tone effect is desired.
Underglazes are also the preferred color medium for outlining and detailing, including eyes, personalizing with names and dates, and accenting design work.
